WILLIAM G. BRAUN III Professor “Trey” Braun is a Professor of Practice with the Strategic Studies Institute (SSI), U.S. Army War College (USAWC). Professor Braun’s research agenda includes national strategy and policy analysis, land forces employment, military leadership, and civil-military relations. He last deployed as the Director, CJ-7 (Force Integration, Training, and Education Directorate), Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan (CSTC-A). His 30-year Army career included multiple tactical aviation and planner assignments at Division and Corps, and multiple force management assignments on the Army staff, U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), and the U.S. Army Recruiting Command. Professor Braun holds a bachelor of arts degree from Alfred University and master’s degrees from the USAWC, School of Advanced Military Science, (SAMS), and Webster University.
